For a start, before we could consider casting a positive vote, we should have copies of the three resolutions in advance to give to our members to consider.
We should also have by now a draught of the proposed Constitution to discuss and consider.
Given Cycling Australia’s financial woes of past years (they had to borrow $2 million to bail them selves out), I`d be looking to see what would the path would be, if a financial loss was incurred? Would they look to the Clubs to bail them out?
Would the amalgamation be the end of zones in Queensland? No Southern Zone, Norther Zone etc.? What would governance look like under the proposed new structure?
There are too may unanswered questions that would give me any confidence to encourage my Club to vote yes!

One of he most insightful articles I have ever read. BMX has a unique blood type that rarely matches any other making a transfusion with other disciplines almost impossible. I was on the national board for 12 years after doing my apprenticeship for much longer. I haveofficiated at the highest international levels for more than 20 years so I can relate to he DNA comments.
BMX administration had to evolve to survive but this amalgamation proposal has too many unanswered questions for me. I vote NO.

Agree Mate. BMX does NOT need the other cycling sections. They only want BMX to boost their numbers just to get more funding. Just say NO.
