Thank you for your article, it described perfectly my feeling about BMX race and the lack of support and financial income for all these talented and fearless riders.
But to win these precious things, the audience for BMX race must be wider.
I'm french and from what I could have seen on the YouTube live (I've spent my two afternoons in front of it), it seemed that there was a lot of empty seats in the venue. I was very surprised not to see more people for a World Cup !
To capture more audience, I think that BMX race events should be revisited in order to give more fun to the public.
For example : in my city (Caen), there is an event called Caen BMX Indoor that mixes BMX Race, Dirt / Freetstyle / Flat BMX, Skateboard, Break Dance and various workshops (like BMX or break dance initiation) : 6000 spectators (most of them are not into BMX, discover it and become fans) ! Kyle Evans, Kye Whyte, Bethany Shriever and some of the finest european riders (like the Dutch army) went there and enjoyed it!

That was an excellent write up and had many points that as a racer and fan, I totally agree with.
I know they need time between rounds to recover, and that as the motos decrease through the rounds, the dead time increases, but there needs to be something to fill in that time. Pre recorded interviews, rider profiles, industry insights...something. I also agree with a 3rd qualifying day so that actual race days could be 2 hours of intense semis and main events. Time trial was kind of boring, but it is also necessary to seed athletes for the real racing.
Monster Energy Supercross in the U.S has a pretty good formula...we just need to steal and tweak it a bit.
