2022 Red Bull Pump Track World Finals LIVE from Chile
After a year long global qualification series, spanning 16 countries, the 2022 Red Bull Pump Track World Championships, in conjunction with the UCI, have arrived! The fastest riders in the sport, including the current World Champion’s Eddy Clerte and Aiko Gommers, have all gathered at the Santa Fe bike park in Santiago, Chile, in the hopes of rolling away with the coveted UCI Rainbow Stripes.
The event, like 2021, will be contested by flying laps with the earlier rounds having an open session format, where riders can complete as many runs as they can fit in … a tactical game of cat and mouse! All qualified riders will compete in the first round, with the best 16 times advancing to the 1/8 finals. The same process sees those 16 cut to 8 for the quarter-finals and ultimately to four riders who face the semis.
The fastest two from the semi-finals go to the main final, the other two going to the small final. Here the riders only get one shot at a fastest run, with the slower rider from the first round starting first.
All the action will unfold LIVE with the top 16 riders, here on Fifteen BMX on Saturday the 19th of November. The coverage is due to begin 17:00 (UTC-3) which is 21:00 in Zurich, 20:00 in London, 15:00 in New York and 04:00 in Sydney (next day).
