The 2025 Fifteen BMX ‘Pro’s Pro of the Year’
The 2025 Fifteen BMX ‘Pro’s Pro of the Year’
It’s the fourth year of the Fifteen BMX ‘Pro’s Pro of the Year’. A post-Olympic year, somewhat pressure free year, where only BMX pride was on the line. In order to win, racers needed the votes of their peers, of which only the top 20 UCI ranked Elite Men and Women qualify a vote. We also polled a handful of others who would have their finger on the pulse, so to say. They would mostly be, but not limited to, former World Class Elite riders, some of whom are now in the coaching business and a few others connected to the World Cup circuit.
All voting was anonymous, which helped eliminate any friendship bias. While voting, some included explanations as to why they voted the way they did, and we’ve included some of those below … also anonymous. Thank you to everyone who took the time!
So, who did the fastest racers on the planet vote for in 2025, who’s the ‘Pro’s Pro of the Year’?
2025 Male ‘Pro’s Pro of the Year’ is
ARTHUR PILARD
With two European Championship titles to his name, we all knew France’s Arthur Pilard was fast, but in 2025 he unleased a new level of fast! After a second behind Sylvain in round one, his first UCI World Cup win came in Sarrians at round two. He wrapped up the World Cup title with back to back wins in Argentina while wearing the World Champs rainbow jersey he decisively won in Denmark. He only raced two Euro Cup rounds, one of which he won, and finished second the following day. There is also the second-place finish at the Euro Champs! Currently sitting at the top of the 2025 UCI rankings with a massive 1000 point buffer, it would be wrong to say 2025 was a breakout year for Pils, but it was undeniably dominant … and his fellow racers agreed, giving Arthur a whopping 89.3% of the votes, the most of any rider to date.
2025 Female ‘Pro’s Pro of the Year’ is
BETHANY SHRIEVER
Bethany Shriever has been close to winning ‘Pro’s Pro of the Year’ before, but in 2025 it was inevitable. She got close to 47% of the vote, from her peers, after an incredible year on the track. Beth added a third Elite World title to her resume in Denmark and another yet European title just as the icing on the cake. Throw in three wins and a second from the four Euro Cups she raced, a UCI World Cup win in Papendal and podiums in Sarrians and Argentina, before opting to end her season a little early to sort out niggling injury with surgery … 2025 has, undoubtedly been Bethany Shriever’s year! If she can pull off back-to-back World Championship wins in Australia next year, making it four Elite titles, we’ll see her back here again in ’26!
“Arthur Pilard, hands down, has been dominant all year. Molly Simpson has been consistent at the USA series and made her mark on the World Cup circuit too.”
“Arthur Pilard and Beth Shriever, both doing it when it was needed, when pressure was the highest.”
“Arthur Pilard and Bethany Shiever. Both a force to be reckoned with!”
“Arthur Pilard, winning his first World Cup, World Champs, and World Cup overall in one year is crazy and pretty unbeatable, super consistent. Beth Shriever showed up when it counted, Euros and Worlds titles both super impressive. Especially considering dealing with her injury again post Paris. Plus, her new dog is so cute!”
“For me Arthur Pilard to step up and win his first World Cup & back it up with world title & World Cup overall is massive so he takes my male. female, I’ll give it to Beth for taking the world title.”
“So, for the women’s category my vote would go to Saya because of her consistency on the world scene. And for men I’d probably choose Arthur, he just showed how strong Frenchie’s really are!”
“Arthur Pilard and Beth Shriever, because they won Worlds, simple.”
“Arthur Pilard, he’s had a dominant year, winning both the World Championships and World Cup overall. Saya Sakakibara, consistently at the top in the World Cup series, and winning the overall. She finished top 2 at every race this year besides one (a 5th), pretty crazy!”
“I would say Arthur Pillard for sure. And it’s tight between Beth and Saya. But I would go for Beth, as she did a 3rd world title and I’m pretty sure she will be the first to make four.”
“So, the male rider of the year for me is Arthur Pilard. He won his first World Cup in France, a podium at European champs and won the World title. Back-to-back in Argentina after a big break. He never missed a gate except at the French champs. The choice is very close with Andre because he podiumed at every race until Argentina! Just insane! For the female rider … Saya, she’s always the, the most consistent rider in this category.”
“My female pro of the year would have to be Bethany, she’s super strong not only on the bike but mentally, she’s an inspiration, she truly is the goat. Male Pro of the year would be Arthur, his incredible ability on a bike and his attitude off the bike.”
“Drew Polk. Exciting to watch, especially in turns. Needs a bit of luck to make that elusive first WC main. Combines that with a solid YouTube presence, which adds value for sponsors. Women … Beth Shriever. Euro and World Champ. Probably woulda won the Grands if she’d gone.”
