The Velosolutions UCI Pump Track World Championship qualifiers rolled into the beautifully picturesque town of Ainsa, Spain last weekend with more tickets on hand to the Worlds finals later this year. Both the sun and the crowds came out to support the riders.
This event saw a fantastic mix of talent with competitors from Slovakia, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Portugal, and Sweden, showcasing their skills on the Velosolutions track. The diversity was evident not just in nationality but also in age … the youngest rider at only 17, while the oldest, Victor Baron, clocked in at a remarkable 73!
The Women’s category, as always, was fiercely contested, but it was the now veteran of the series, Kristína Madarásová, who emerged victorious with an outstanding performance on her MTB this time around, clocking the fastest time of the day at 19.370 seconds in her final run and securing her ticket to the World Final. Does she turn up there on her BMX or MTB? Do we get a vote?
Ruth Abad Gutierrez took second place, followed closely by Alba Fernandez Lopez in third, and Manon Valentino, who we’re very excited to see competing here, in fourth. Once Manon finds her Pump Track rhythm, she may be a force to be reckoned with on the tour.
WOMEN:

In the Men’s category, France’s Thibault Dupont did what he does and dominated the event in his usual precision form, to take the top place on the podium, securing the fastest time with an impressive 16.983 seconds during his final run and being the only rider to go sub 17 seconds on the day. Ángel Heras Moreno claimed second place on the podium after fierce battles with Sweden’s Love Sylwan, who took home third place. Esteban Abad Gutierrez rounded out the top four. The competition was intense, but Dupont’s skill and speed were unmatched.
Ainsa provided the perfect backdrop for this thrilling event, with its scenic beauty and vibrant atmosphere enhancing the excitement of the races. The energy from the crowd was palpable, making it a day to remember for everyone involved.
